Transport
Jokeri Line: first light rail system in Helsinki
Jokeri Line is a 25‑kilometre orbital light rail connection linking Helsinki and Espoo in Finland’s capital region. Replacing the region’s busiest bus route, the line provides a high‑capacity, reliable public transport backbone. With the growth expectations, local authorities are seeking to meet carbon‑neutrality targets by encouraging travel by public transport.
Transport
Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link – the world’s longest immersed tunnel
The Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link is an 18 km immersed tunnel connecting Denmark and Germany, setting a new global benchmark for cross‑border infrastructure. Combining road and rail in a single structure, the project will dramatically reduce travel time, strengthen European transport corridors.
Transport
The West Link, unlocking Gothenburg's rail capacity for the future
Gothenburg is one of Scandinavia's busiest transportation hubs, but its rail network has long struggled with limited capacity. To address this, the Swedish Transport Administration is building the West Link (Västlänken), an eight-kilometer railway through three stations that will reduce congestion, shorten travel times, and provide a more efficient commuting experience.
Transport
Dronning Margrethe II Bridge: A strategic link for Denmark
The Dronning Margrethe II Bridge is Denmark’s third largest bridge, stretching approximately 4 kilometres across the Storstrøm strait. Replacing the existing bridge from 1937, the project strengthens the strategic rail and road corridor between Denmark and Germany and supports increased passenger and freight traffic linked to the future Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link.
Transport
Gartnerløkka, Kristiansand's urban node
The 1.4 km-long redevelopment of the existing E18/E39 highway crossing replaces outdated bridges and roads with a modern, multi-modal transport corridor that prioritizes pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport, while integrating seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Harpa Concert Hall, Iceland
With Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center, we have created a living icon for Iceland. All year round, the poetic building sets the stage for a diverse range of events – from music school concerts and picnic lunches to international gala performances and banquets.
Technology
Transforming a coal-fired power plant site into a low-carbon digital hub
Ramboll has been selected to partner with TeraWulf to advance a brownfield-to-compute transformation for one of the USA's largest AI and high-performance computing data center projects.
Energy
Accelerating the scaling of green energy
Ambitious work is underway on the world’s first energy islands – marking the next phase in the green energy transition.
Energy
New York’s first wind farm will power 70,000 homes
The second commercial scale offshore wind farm in the USA and New York State’s first ever wind farm will displace millions of tonnes of carbon emissions. Ramboll is designing and engineering the offshore substation topside to connect the wind farm to the grid.
Energy
Taarnby: city of smart solutions
The energy facility in Taarnby near Copenhagen, Denmark, is the world's first to combine district cooling and heating with wastewater, ground source cooling and a cold-water storage tank, resulting in cost-effective low-carbon energy for the district it serves.
